a long time

Okay so its been a long time since I posted anything on my blog. For those of you who don't know I'm a member of the Florida National Guard and I'm currently serving overseas. So there are a couple of things I want to talk about tonight...the first is that you cannot get food magazines from the PX. Do they think that no one likes to cook or do they think because we cannot cook now we wouldn't be interested in reading about it. Of course you can get 65 magazines about cars, motorcycles, semi naked women, MMA and any muscle magazine you can think of.
The second thing is the food here. We are on a one week rotation, the same foods on the same nights every week(most of it is good but come on). I'm not saying we need that much variety but how about a two week rotation instead. The other thing that's weird about the food here is how it can change so much from week to week. One week the steak tastes pretty good, the following week its the worst thing you have ever had. Consistency people!!

Super Hero Squad

I'm watching Super Hero Squad with my son right now...This is an ok show although it seems a bit weird to me kind of like Muppet babies meets the marvel universe...but then they throw all these comics Easter eggs in there to make the show interesting for us geeks. For instance in this episode they had Stan Lee doing the voice over for one of the characters.

Comics I read this week

It was a small week for new comics for me this week, however I used the lull to catch myself up in a few other series. I enjoyed reading x-force although I do not see myself adding it as a regular pull...of course I don't have any x books on my pull list so maybe I will be adding one soon.
I read the first two volumes of Queen and Country Definitive Editions. While I have heard some podcasts say that they are dry I really enjoyed them. I like espionage and military oriented comics sometimes even when they are not well received within the comics community.
I enjoyed Incredible Hercules, which I picked up after listening to 11 o'clock comics rave about it during the podcast, and I will have to go try to find all the arcs I have missed while not reading this book.
I'm hoping to do a post on all the comic book podcasts I like and why, either today or tomorrow as I try to ramp up the content on my new blog.

I suck at poker

Okay so if you have been following my other blog, and except for one person you haven't been, you would realize that I'm not the best poker player. Since I do not currently have the time to invest in serious study and play of the game, I decided to start a new blog. In this blog I will still talk about food and life...and sometimes about the comic book medium.
